Summer school begins in June

Information for the GCPS 2008 Summer School Sessions is now available for students and parents. Additional updates will be available after the GCPS observance of Spring Break, April 7–11.

High School Students

Who: Students who need to make up a class or want to get ahead, including rising 9th graders who may take selected classes (click here for information).

Face-to-Face Classes Online Classes
When: June 9 to July 10 (July 4 holiday)
  • 1st Period: 7:30-10:30 a.m.
  • 2nd Period: 11:05 a.m.-2:05 p.m.
Where: Dacula High, Duluth High, and Parkview High

Where: A reliable computer with an Internet
connection (daily access required).
Face-to-face meeting for final exams.

Classes have a fee. Students can register and pay online for summer school (face-to-face and online classes). Registration begins May 1 at www.gwinnettk12online.net.



Elementary and Middle School Students

Who: Qualifying students in kindergarten through 8th grade

What: GCPS’ free K-8 Academic Summer School for students on academic contracts

When: June 26 to July 17 (July 4 holiday)

Where: Most elementary and middle school campuses. Those schools with construction or special programs this summer may combine sessions with neighboring school(s).

Parents of students who qualify for the free summer school session will learn more from their school this spring.
